Hunters Point Shipyard Art and History Project
This body of work is rooted in visually documenting the former Hunters Point Naval Shipyard in San Francisco where my studio is located. Simple curiosity about the intended use of some of the old buildings I was depicting in my artwork led me to extensive independent research that revealed a fascinating, yet little known, history of the former Hunters Point Naval Shipyard, and the critical role it played in important events that helped turn the tide of world history. This historic research informed the artworks surrounding the shipyard’s past & present, evolving into a long-term, multi-faceted, visual documentary art & history project I have been engaged with for the past 20 years.
